Love Story (Brent's version)

Our story begins all the way back in 2006. Brent was living in the University Villa Apartments in Provo attending BYU. He had recently returned home from his mission and was trying to get back into school and the dating scene. In May, a cute girl moved into the ward that immediately caught Brent's attention. He first noticed her at church and said to himself, "Now that's a girl I'd like to get to know."

About a week later Brent got his chance. One evening he and his roommate Dustin were bored and decided to head down to the apartment lounge to see if anything fun was going on. As they walked down the stairs Brent noticed this same beautiful girl walking down to the lounge also. The girl introduced herself as Lisa, and the two decided that they would play a game of pool together. They each had a fun time getting to know each other that night and started a solid friendship.

As the weeks went on, Brent and Lisa's friendship increased. Brent finally developed the courage to ask Lisa on a date. The two ended up going on a few different dates and outings before Brent eventually moved back home during the summer. At this point, Brent decided to continue asking out a variety of dates before choosing to get too serious with anyone in particular. After all, he was a naive returned missionary who didn't know exactly what he was looking for!

Eventually Brent and Lisa both left the Villa and went their seperate ways. Lisa was already very wise but Brent needed to grow up a little more! Each had some wonderful experiences during this time which helped strengthen their faith and character. Brent kept Lisa's cell phone number just in case...

On a June evening in the spring of 2008, Brent was being very contemplative about his dating. He now had a clearer picture of the girl he wanted to marry but was frustrated in not being able to find her. Suddenly Lisa popped into Brent's mind. As he thought about her, he remembered how wonderful she was and remembered the fun they had had together a few years previous. But it had been so long since he had contacted her that he didn't know if she was already married or living in the area! But he thought, "I guess it doesn't hurt to call her!"

A few days later Brent gave Lisa a call and to his relief found that she was still here and single! The two had a delightful conversation and Brent asked her out for the following weekend. Brent and Lisa had a wonderful time being back with each other and the relationship took off again! Through a series of fun dates, the two connected at a deep level and began dating seriously. Brent became even more impressed with Lisa's character, her goodness, and her beauty as he got to know her better.

The rest is history! Brent eventually proposed to Lisa and the two are set to be married on December 19th, 2008 at the Mt. Timpanogus Temple. They are both so happy and can't wait to begin the journey of life together, forever! Dreams can and do come true!!
