4th of July Fun

We put up our $10 Walmart slip n' slide the evening of July 3rd and the kids had a blast!

 Ella got sick in the middle of the night with a fever, so the day of the 4th, we took it easy. She slept away most of the day on the couch. Thankfully, my worries about her subsided in the evening when she began to perk up again and actually ate some food. Phew!

 Glad Ella felt well enough by sunset to put on her flag shirt and enjoy some little fireworks! Then we drove up on a nearby hill to watch the fireworks going on in the neighborhood while eating popcorn.

 This lump of black fabric doesn't look like much... but the last two pictures show the after product of my two hours of labor. Yes, I replaced the zipper in Brent's pants. These go back to his mission and there's still plenty of good use in them. I've never taken apart men's trousers and stripped the zipper out to replace it, but let me assure you, it's not as easy as it looks. Glad that is done!
